We define our non-technical volunteers as individuals who are eager to learn and help, but may not yet have the technical background knowledge in the event that they’re assisting. These individuals are fast learners and can get the job done with the help of a quick explanation from either the AO staff or our volunteers, the officials!

ATHLETICS ONTARIO IS PLANNING FOR SUMMER EMPLOYMENT FOR YOUTH! (TENTATIVE)
Athletics Ontario (AO), the Provincial Sports Organization (PSO) for Athletics, is looking to hire youth for full-time (limited-term) employment. Successful candidates will assist our Management team with administrative functions with the AO head office.
Terms: 35 hours/week for 8-10 weeks
Application deadline: March 31, 2026, or until filled
Start Date: As early as April 20, 2026, but could be as late as June | End Date: No later than August 29, 2026
IMPORTANT: The positions are dependent upon Athletics Ontario receiving Canada Summer Jobs Program funding. Exact start date, end date, and length of employment may vary depending on the amount of funding received.

Technical skills - The ability to develop capabilities that relate to the practical or mechanical side of an activity, the application of a set of technical processes and its required know-how.
Which youth participants are eligible?
To be eligible, youth must:

be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period

be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and

have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
*** Note: International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.***
International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
Location: These positions may be partially remote in nature (some daytime, weekend and evening work may be required off-site, during Camps, Championship events and other functions). This project may operate at the Athletics Ontario office at 3701 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M1N 2G2, or at events, communities and schools within the Greater Toronto Area. A reliable laptop and reliable internet access will be necessary to carry out tasks for this position.
Wage Rate: $21.60/hour
