Milt Ottey was a national team member from 78 to 86, he won 6 national, 1 American, and 20 international titles in the HJ, including a commonwealth and pan am games gold. Milt was a member of the 79 Pan-Am, 80 and 84 Olympic, 82 Commonwealth and 83 FISU games teams. In 1982 T&F News named him the top HJ in the world and in the same year Milt won the Jack Davies, Cal Bricker, and Fred Rowell awards and was runner up for the Norton Crowe Award.
