Scott earned the 2002 Commonwealth Games Javelin silver medal with a throw of 78.98m. He finished fifth at the 1998 World Junior Championships, tenth at the 2001 Summer Universiade, finished twelfth at the 2005 World Championships, eighth at the 2006 Commonwealth Games & tenth at the 2008 Olympic Games. Scott also competed at the World Championships in 2001, 2005, 2007, and 201, and holds the Canadian record for javelin throw, with a throw of 84.81m set on July 13, 2011, at the Toronto International Track & Field Games. Scott also holds the Canadian Indoor Weight Throw record of 24.72m since 2002.
