
Roman Olszewski had a great impact in Athletics as an official, administrator and coach. He managed Athletics Ontario’s technical operations for 36 years starting in 1979 where he was the Technical Coordinator for OTFA (Now AO) and he later became the Editor for the Technical Bulletin. Olszewski was a columnist for Athletics Magazine since 1979 and in 1980 he began writing Technical Speaking in the OTFA magazine. From 1994 to 2014, Roman had written articles and compiled statistics for Athletics Magazine’s Canadian All-Time lists.
Roman Olszewski has been the Provincial technical representative at the Canada Games in 1981 in Thunder Bay, as well as in 2001 in London. He was also a technician official for over 350 Provincial Championships. Olszewski had the opportunity to be the Racewalking Manager at the 1983 World Cup in Bergen, Norway as well as being the Technical & Equipment Manager for the 1993 World Indoor Championships at the Toronto Skydome. In 2015, Roman Olszewski retired from Athletics Ontario after many great contributions.
