Neil Farrell

Neil was the Meet director for the 91st Highlands Games and served for 30 years on the Organizing Committee and in 1960 he was the Canadian Olympic team manager.

Neil was actively involved in the Canadian Commonwealth Games organization for over 28 years and was honorary secretary for 23 years. During that time he was manager of the 1958 Cardiff Games, assistant manager of the 1966 Commonwealth Games team, 1970 Edinburgh Games General manager, 1974 Commonwealth Games assistant manager, 1978 team manager at the Edmonton Games, assistant manager at both the 1982 Brisbane Games and the 1986 Edinburgh Games. Neil served the Commonwealth Games federation as the vice president of the Americas from 1978 to 1986.

In 1966 Neil was recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Eduction for his outstanding contributions to the sporting life of the City of Hamilton. Neil was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1967, in 1968 he was awarded the Ontario sport achievement award and in 1992 he received the Canada 125 medal, awarded in recognition of his significant contributions to his community and fellow Canadians.

Neil was an active member of the Hamilton Olympic Club serving in many capacities including President.
