Common Technical Rules and General Competition Details

    Check-in Procedure

    • Athletes entered in field events must check in with officials at their event site before their respective event begins. Failure to check in with officials before the event starts will result in them being scratched from that specific event. Picking up bib numbers does not constitute a check-in.

    • Athletes in track events simply need to arrive at the start line before their event to be organized and placed on the start line by officials. Heat sheets will be posted by the start line area for each track event, so they know what heat and lane they have been assigned. This will help athletes plan when they need to be available at the start line.

    • Track athletes in distance races should arrive 15 – 30 minutes before the start of the event to pickup their hip number from officials. Two hip numbers will be given to

    Warmups

    • Athletes are allowed to warmup around the facility while competition is occuring. Please stay clear of active competition area.

    Awards

    • No awards will be given at this competition.

    Protests

    • All Protests must be made as outlined in WA rule 146. In all cases, protests must be filed within 30 minutes of the official announcement or release of the results. If no protest is received within the above-mentioned time limit, the result as released will stand. If a protest changes a result, 30 minutes will be allowed following the announcement or release of the decision for appeals to be brought forward. The decision of the referee may be appealed to the Jury of Appeal whose decision is final. The cost of $25.00 will be returned if the protest is upheld or not considered frivolous by the Jury.

The instructions below will only be relevant to club registering multiple athletes for Winter Mini Meet 3.

Clubs that complete event registrations for their athletes can now use "Rosters" and "Bulk Registrations" on the club admin dashboard. Follow the steps below to complete your athlete's registrations for the AOXC Championship. Questions/issues can be sent to operations@athleticsontario.ca.

    1. Create a “Roster.” This is an option on the left-hand side when you are on the dashboard.

    2. Create a new roster.

      • Create a name

      • Roster type will be “Event Roster”

      • Multiple rosters can be created. This is recommended if registering more than 25 athletes at a time.

    3. Select the newly created roster.

      • “Add Participants”

      • A listing of all athletes that are registered with the club should appear. You can simply select all or just select the athletes that are part of your XC roster.

      • Save it then head to “Bulk Registrations”

    4. “Create a Bulk Registration”

      • Select your created "Roster"

      • Search for the event. In this case it is the "Ontario Cross Country Championship."

      • Add the billing contact, in this case yourself.

      • Select the bulk registration that you just created.

      • Select “Add Registration” under the Registrations section
