York University -  Position: Assitant Coach, Track & Field (1 Year Maternity Leave Contract)

In this excellent full-time opportunity the Assistant Coach, Track & Field will provide leadership and assist the Head Coach in the coordination and operation of the Lions Track and Field club program (men and women) for the Interuniversity Sport Program within the established guidelines, policies, and procedures of York University, the School of Kinesiology and Health Science and affiliated sport associations. This position has a reporting relationship to the Head Coach, Track and Field and to the Manager of Interuniversity Sport for administrative responsibilities. Human Resources matters are coordinated through the Executive Officer of the School of Kinesiology and Health Science. This position requires commitment and adherence to the values and principles of Sport & Recreation as expressed in the mandate of the department.

Assistant Coach at Mississauga Track Club


The Mississauga Track Club has an assistant position open for Track and Field/Cross Country. This is an entry-level position designed to create an opportunity for an applicant to gain experience as a club track and field/cross-country coach.  Previous coaching experience would be viewed favorably but is not a job requirement.
 
Responsibilities shall include but not limited to: coaching middle and long distance athletes, recruiting, scheduling, and practice/meet management.

Coaching: Working with the men’s and women’s cross-country and track team and assisting the full time coach where needed. The applicant will have the opportunity to work specifically with middle-distance and long distance athletes.
 
Funding: The coach will receive an honorarium at the end of the year based on the number of athletes coached.  The Mississauga Track Club will also pay for NCCP coaching certifications.
