The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is now accepting applications for the next wave of Chevrolet's Making Dreams Possible Club Coaching Grants. Free SIRC Membership for all AO Coaches, Officials, Associates & Administrators

Athletics Ontario is also pleased to let you know that we have a new benefit for all coaches, officials, associates and administrators registered with Athletics Ontario. Through a partnership with SIRC (Sport Information Resource Centre), all Athletics Ontario coaches, officials, associates and administrators will be given a complimentary SIRC Membership and will be able to access the world leading sport database, SportDiscusTM, free of charge. This is a comprehensive library containing everything from coaching and training to sport medicine material. There are other benefits including: �Ask a Librarian�, �Search the SIRC Collection� and �Receive your Articles� Services. All Coaches, officials, associates and administrators registered with Athletics Ontario in 2010, will be receiving a promo code shortly to access this incredible on-line resource.

Canadian Sport for Life "A Sport Parent's Guide"

The newly released Canadian Sport for Life "A Sport Parent's Guide" is now available for download. Canadian Sport for Life and LTAD (Long-Term Athlete Development) focuses on the general framework of athlete development with special reference to growth, maturation and development, trainability and sport system alignment and integration. It incorporates information from a number of sources. The guide provides parents and coaches introductory information on the basics of training, LTAD stages, and how to support Canadian Sport for Life in sport, at home and in your community...not to mention a comprehensive appendix of resources.

A Running Start

New York Road Runners has released a free on-line collection of 83 coaching videos developed by New York Road Runners to teach the fundamentals of running. Created in collaboration with a team of expert youth coaches and physiologists, A Running Start offers a wealth of instruction for coaches and physical education teachers who want to teach kids how to run.
