Priscilla Lopes-Schliep (Elite Edge) won the gold medal in the women's 100m Hurdles at the Qatar 2009 Grand Prix on Friday May 8, 2009. The 2009 Olympic bronze medallist from Whitby, ON, set a meet record in 12.52 seconds which currently stands as the world-leading time. Finishing in 5th place in the same race was Perdita Felicien (Over the Top HP) with a time of 12.80 seconds. Sultana Frizell (Ottawa Lions TFC) took the bronze medal in the women's hammer with a throw of 69.86m. Sultana is coming off her recent pending Canadian record throw of 71.64m achieved at the Mt. Sac Relays, showing that she can be consistently among the best in the world in her event. Nicole Forrester (Mississauga TFC) finished 7th in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.88m while Dylan Armstrong, the lone Canadian not from Ontario, finished 4th in the men's shot put with a throw of 20.37m.
